15 Tips to Grow Your E-mail List



Looking for ways to grow your e-mail subscriber list?  Try these 15 ways:

  1. Ask for e-mail address on your direct mail and newsletter reply devices
  2. Request it during volunteer sign-in
  3. Use an online registration form for special events
  4. Ask for it as part of the sign-in process when you give program tours
  5. Put an e-newsletter sign-up button on your home page
  6. Provide special opportunities only for e-mail subscribers (early event registration, priority seating, etc.)
  7. Offer an exclusive special report or update from your CEO, available only through e-mail registration
  8. Require registration to view special video content on your website
  9. Ask site visitors to send an advocacy e-mail (through your site) to their Mayor, Governor, Senator or member of Congress
  10. Offer site visitors the chance to win a contest (tickets to your gala, free registration for your walk/run, a mission-relevant gift, etc.) by signing up for e-mail updates
  11. Add a petition sign-up page to your site (require e-mail address for registration)
  12. Ask for e-mail address when someone calls your office
  13. Ask for e-mail when you make thank you calls
